Lets explore the unique nature of God and how He is comprised of three separate and distinct persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. All three are God, but the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit, and the Spirit is not the Father. With that in mind, we come to this part of Isaiah’s prophecy concerning Christ, and take careful notice that he referred to Him as Everlasting Father.

At first, this seems to be a contradiction since we’ve established that the Father and Son are different persons. How, then, can the Son also be the Father? Although the Father and Son are different from each other, they are also inseparably linked to each other. Their bond can never be broken and their unity can never be undone. Jesus instructed Philip on this point when he asked to see the Father-John 14:8-9.

When we find the Son, we also find the Father. It cannot be any other way. We will always get one with the other. Consequently, when we receive the gift of God’s Son, we also receive God the Father. And as we shall see, He is an everlasting, faithful, and accepting Father.
