Are You Truly Born Again?

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might know the things that have been freely given to us by God. These things we also speak, not in words which man’s wisdom teaches but which the Holy Spirit teaches, comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he who is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is rightly judged by no one. (I Corinthians 2:12-15 NKJV)

A few months back I was speaking to someone on what it meant to be born again, and as I was digging into the scriptures, someone from the Muslim faith came up to me and interrupted, saying, ” What do you mean to be born again, you are only born once?” “You cannot come out your mothers womb again, that doesn’t make any sense to me?” As the young man was speaking, I quickly referred in my mind 1 Corinthians 2:9 in my head. I truly understood at that point what the scripture really meant.

Do you truly know what it means it be born again?

To be born again truly means to accept Jesus Christ in your heart as your Lord and Savior, and allowing Him to make room in your soul with the Holy Spirit given by God. The Holy Spirit will come in and start to direct the path that God wants you on. At that point, you become a new creature-not in the flesh-but spiritually. You are born again and you will never be the same.

Well you may say, “I did that 10, 20, 30 years ago and I don’t feel any different?” Well Beloved, did you accept Christ as your Savior? Are you making an effort to get to know God, by going to church and getting Into the word? If you are missing any on of the two, then that is reason behind behind you not feeling a change. It works both ways, there has to be an effort on your end to seek God. In the Bible the word “seek” is used numerous times.

Let’s be determined to “seek”out God today and begin to see the new creature that God wants to live through.

  1. Eliza says:

God calls us to repent of our sin and put our faith in Jesus Christ. When we obey the gospel call He fills us with the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit moves in our hearts to love the Lord, His people, His Word, His Church. We are a new creation in Christ, old things have passed away, behold all things have become new. We have eternal life and exhibit this life by our love and obedience. God bless you:)
